the designer of Comme des Carcons

Thing that affects her:
-She studied fine arts and literature at Keio University in Tokyo but not design.
-So she is also looking for inspiration in the untouchable, the spiritual, and not the material stuff.
-Her challenge on current ideals of body shape, garment construction and use of colour gives her the credit with revolutionising fashion and described as 'anti-fashion' or 'art'.
Where she find her inspiration:
-'It is influenced by my daily life…my search for new means of expression ',she said.
-Also looking for something unreliastic, untouchable and spiritual. Finally, let them happen in reliastic.
Her preference on colour:
-She always uses sombre colours and monochromatic black is her signature.
-She said black is perceived as flattering, assumes the status of a noncolor—an absence rather than a presence. Her intent is to reject clothes as mere decoration for the body .
-Her view on black is different from us because she said "there are many blacks, not only one, each black has a shade within it." She meant that black can often have a blue tint, a purple shade or even some grey in it.
Her preference on patern and garment cutting:
deconstruction on garments
patchwork techniques

bias cut

Patterns usually employed :Polka dots, lips, love-hearts
